Thirty years ago on February 13th the Brentwood School Senior Choir took part in Opening Ceremonies of the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games. The 1000 voice Choir mostly comprised of adults with only two children's choirs formed the Olympic Rings. Mrs. Steeves was in the black ring and there were choristers in every ring. The choir rehearsed weekly through the fall of 1987 while Mrs. Steeves was on maternity leave! There were costume fittings, recording sessions, mass choir rehearsals, dress reheasals and of course the big day itself!1 What a thrill and what memories!!!

The 38th Annual Christmas Concert Celebrate the Season was a thrill for me! The school was so fortunate to have Sarah, Timothy and Patrick Steeves, my children, and Talia Sinclair accompany the joint Primary, Junior and Senior Choir performance as a String Quartet. It was so beautiful and a real treat for me as a Mom and as the Musical Director of the Music Program here at Brentwood! So special!!

The 2017 Annual École Brentwood Elementary School Remembrance Day Ceremony was held on Friday November 10th, 2017, at 9:15 am in the school gymnasium. The Primary, Junior and Senior Choirs lead by our Grade 6 choristers presented a poignant ceremony for their fellow students, family and friends. The Grade 6 Guitar and Melody Chime players add a beautiful sentiment to the ceremony as well. Special tribute was made to George Freeman who had been an annual visitor to our school every Remembrance Day for many years and would speak to our students about his memories of the war. The 2017 Remembrance Day Ceremony was a wonderful first performance for the 223 choristers of the École Brentwood Elementary School Music Program! Bravo to everyone!
